Sitges is a lively coastal town on the Costa Barcelona, just south-west of Barcelona city, known for its attractive old town, seafront promenade, cultural events and long-standing creative spirit. Inland, the surrounding Garraf Natural Park offers a different side of the area, with limestone hills, walking routes and traditional villages within reach.

Food is another part of the appeal. Sitges has everything from informal tapas bars and seafront restaurants to smart dining rooms serving Catalan and Mediterranean dishes. Local seafood, rice dishes and simple market-led cooking are easy to find. Shopping is centred around the old town streets, where boutiques, galleries and gift shops sit alongside everyday stores.

Sitges is also well known for its inclusive atmosphere, popular festivals and cultural calendar, including its famous film festival and colourful carnival. It is compact, walkable and characterful, making it a strong choice for a short break or a longer holiday combining seaside relaxation, culture and easy access to Barcelona.
