About Turgutreis holidays

Turgutreis is a relaxed resort on the western side of the Bodrum Peninsula, known for its broad seafront, marina and memorable Aegean sunsets. It has a more laid-back feel than Bodrum town, making it a good choice if you want beach time, easy evenings out and plenty of places to eat without being right in the busiest part of the peninsula.

The main beach runs close to the centre, with a mix of sand and shingle, shallow water in places and views across to nearby Greek islands on clear days. There are also smaller beaches and coves along this part of the coast, with Kadikalesi and Akyarlar within easy reach for a change of scene. Boat trips are popular from the harbour area, often visiting bays around the peninsula for swimming and snorkelling.

Turgutreis has a pleasant waterfront for strolling, especially around the marina, where you’ll find cafés, restaurants and shops. Dining is one of the resort’s strengths, with everything from simple Turkish grills and pide to seafood restaurants, meze spots and international options aimed at holidaymakers. The weekly market is another highlight, with stalls selling fruit, spices, textiles, leather goods and souvenirs; it is a good place to browse, but polite bargaining is common on non-food items.

Evenings in Turgutreis are sociable rather than full-on. You’ll find bars along the seafront and in the centre, some with live music or a relaxed late-night atmosphere, but the resort is generally quieter than Bodrum town. If you do want a livelier night out or more sightseeing, Bodrum is reachable by local dolmuş or taxi.

For days out, nearby Gümüşlük is well worth visiting for its waterside restaurants and historic setting, while Bodrum town offers the castle, marina and a wider choice of shops and bars. Turgutreis suits couples, friends and families who want a beach-based holiday with good food, scenic views and easy access to the rest of the Bodrum Peninsula.
