About Calas De Mallorca holidays

Calas De Mallorca is a relaxed resort on Majorca’s east coast, set around a handful of small sandy coves and rocky headlands. It is a purpose-built holiday area rather than a traditional old town, so it suits travellers who want easy beach days, sea views and a straightforward choice of hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants within walking distance.

The main appeal is the coastline. Cala Domingos Gran and Cala Domingos Petit are the best-known beaches in the resort, with pale sand, clear water and cliffs framing the bays. Cala Antena is another nearby cove, smaller and more sheltered in feel. The beaches can get busy in peak summer, but their calm, turquoise water makes them popular for swimming and snorkelling when conditions are good. There are also coastal paths and viewpoints around the headlands, useful for short walks and sunset photos without needing to travel far.

The resort centre is compact and practical, with souvenir shops, small supermarkets, cafés, casual restaurants and a selection of bars. Dining is generally informal, with menus aimed at holidaymakers, including Spanish dishes, seafood, grills, pizzas and familiar British options. Many visitors stay on an all-inclusive basis, but there are enough places to eat and drink out if you like a change of scene.

Evenings in Calas De Mallorca are lively enough for a holiday atmosphere but not on the scale of Majorca’s bigger party resorts. Expect hotel entertainment, family-friendly bars, music, quizzes and the occasional karaoke night rather than large clubs. This makes it a comfortable choice for couples, families and anyone who prefers a quieter base.

For days out, Porto Cristo and the Caves of Drach are among the most popular nearby trips, while Manacor is useful for shopping and a look at a more local side of the island. Hiring a car can make it easier to explore the east coast’s coves and inland villages, although many visitors are happy to spend most of their time between the beaches, pool and resort centre. Overall, Calas De Mallorca is best for a simple, sunny Majorca holiday with scenic coves, an easy-going atmosphere and everything close at hand.
