Campos is a traditional inland town in southern Majorca, well suited to holidaymakers who want a quieter base with easy access to some of the island’s best-known south-coast scenery. Weekly market days are a good time to visit the town centre, when stalls bring extra colour and local produce to the streets. Evenings are generally low-key, so Campos is better for relaxed dinners and a drink on a terrace than late-night nightlife.

Although Campos itself is inland, the coast is close by. Es Trenc, one of Majorca’s most famous natural beaches, is within easy reach by car, known for its pale sand, clear shallow water and protected setting. The coastal areas around Sa Ràpita, Ses Covetes and Colònia de Sant Jordi also make good day trips for swimming, walking by the sea or boat excursions in season. The nearby salt flats and natural landscapes add to the area’s appeal, especially for visitors who enjoy quieter scenery and birdlife.

Campos also works well as a base for exploring rural southern Majorca. The surrounding countryside is dotted with farms, windmills and country roads, making it popular with cyclists and walkers outside the hottest parts of the day. By car, you can reach Santanyí, Llucmajor and the coves of the south-east coast without too much difficulty.

A holiday in Campos is best suited to travellers looking for authenticity, space and flexibility rather than a beachfront resort with constant entertainment. With a hire car and a taste for slower-paced Majorca, it offers a practical and characterful base close to beaches, countryside and traditional island towns.
