Nightlife is quiet, so travellers looking for clubs or a wider choice of late-night venues may prefer to take a taxi to nearby Cala Ratjada.

The Coves d’Artà, a striking cave system near Cap Vermell, are one of the best-known local attractions and are easy to reach from Canyamel. The Torre de Canyamel, a historic defensive tower set slightly inland, is another interesting stop and is often visited for its setting and restaurant. Golfers also have courses in the surrounding area, including Canyamel Golf.

Canyamel works well as a peaceful holiday base with easy access to the wider north-east of Majorca. Nearby Capdepera has a hilltop castle and traditional streets, while Artà is known for its market and old-town feel. If you want a calm beach resort with scenic surroundings and enough to do without feeling hectic, Canyamel is a strong option.
