Paguera Holidays

Paguera, also often written as Peguera, is a relaxed beach resort on Majorca’s south-west coast, within easy reach of Palma and the wider Calvià area. It has a friendly, well-established holiday feel, with a good choice of hotels, apartments, restaurants and cafés spread around a compact centre. The resort is particularly popular with couples and families who want beach time, easy evenings and the option to explore more of the island without staying somewhere too busy.

The main appeal of Paguera is its trio of sandy beaches: Playa Palmira, Playa Tora and Playa La Romana. They are linked by a seafront promenade, so it is simple to wander between them and choose a spot that suits the day. Palmira is the largest and most central, with plenty of facilities close by, while the smaller beaches can feel a little quieter depending on the season. The water is generally calm, making the resort a good choice for swimming and relaxed days by the sea.

Behind the beachfront, Boulevard de Paguera is the main strip, lined with shops, bars, ice cream parlours and places to eat. Dining is varied and informal, with Majorcan, Spanish and international options, plus many restaurants geared towards visitors. Evenings are usually lively rather than rowdy, with terrace bars, hotel entertainment and casual drinks taking the place of big-club nightlife.

For things to do beyond the beach, Paguera is well placed. Coastal walks offer lovely views, and nearby Cala Fornells is a pretty spot for a change of scene. Golf courses, boat trips and water-based activities are available in the surrounding area, and the resort has good road connections for day trips. Palma is close enough for sightseeing, shopping and the cathedral, while Port d’Andratx and the Tramuntana foothills are also popular excursions.

Paguera suits holidaymakers who want comfort, convenience and a classic Majorcan seaside break. It is not the island’s quietest hideaway, but it is smaller and more laid-back than some of the larger south-west resorts, with enough going on for an easy week in the sun.
