Popular things to do include boat trips along the south-east coast, snorkelling in sheltered waters, coastal walks and gentle cycling routes through the surrounding countryside. Mondragó Natural Park is a particular highlight for walkers and nature lovers, with marked paths, coastal views and birdlife. For a change of scene, Cala d’Or offers more shops, restaurants and a livelier marina, while Santanyí is a worthwhile inland visit for its stone streets, galleries and traditional market atmosphere.

Holidays in Portopetro are best suited to travellers who want a peaceful Majorcan base with attractive scenery, good food and easy access to nearby coves. It is compact, scenic and understated, making it a strong choice for couples and independent holidaymakers who prefer a slower pace.
