Corralejo Holidays

Corralejo is one of Fuerteventura’s best-known holiday resorts, set on the island’s north coast with a lively harbour, sandy beaches and easy access to some of the Canaries’ most striking coastal scenery. It has a relaxed, outdoorsy feel by day, with plenty of cafés, surf shops and seafront places to eat, while the evenings bring a sociable but generally easy-going atmosphere around the old town, harbour and main commercial areas.

The beaches are a major part of Corralejo’s appeal. In the centre of the resort you’ll find smaller sandy bays that are handy for a quick swim or a family beach day close to restaurants and shops. Just outside town, the Corralejo Natural Park is home to wide pale-sand beaches and rolling dunes, with views across to Lobos Island. These beaches are especially popular for sunbathing, walking and watersports, though conditions can be breezy and the sea is not always calm.

Corralejo is also a good base for getting out on the water. Boat trips run to Lobos Island, a small protected island between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, where visitors can walk, swim in sheltered spots and enjoy volcanic landscapes. The resort is well known for surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and paddleboarding, with options for beginners as well as more experienced visitors depending on conditions.

Food and drink are varied, ranging from casual tapas bars and seafood restaurants near the harbour to international restaurants serving Italian, Asian, British and Canarian dishes. The old town streets are a pleasant place for a slower meal, while the busier strips offer a wider choice of bars. Nightlife is lively enough for cocktails, live music and late drinks, but Corralejo is not usually as intense as the biggest clubbing resorts.

For a change of scene, holidaymakers can explore the dunes, visit nearby villages such as El Cotillo for coastal views and sunsets, or take a day trip further across Fuerteventura. Corralejo suits couples, groups of friends and families who want beaches, restaurants and activities within easy reach, with a more natural landscape just beyond the resort.
