About Playa De Taurito holidays

Playa de Taurito is a compact, purpose-built resort on Gran Canaria’s south-west coast, set in a steep-sided valley between Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogán. It is a good choice if you want an easy, self-contained holiday with the beach, hotels and a handful of leisure facilities all close together, rather than a large resort with endless bars and shopping streets.

The resort’s beach is small and sheltered, with dark volcanic sand and pebbly patches typical of this part of Gran Canaria. The surrounding cliffs give it a tucked-away feel, and the bay is generally well suited to relaxed sunbathing and paddling, though sea conditions can vary. There are usually sunbeds and parasols available, and the seafront is close to the main hotel areas, so it is straightforward to get around on foot.

Playa de Taurito is particularly known for its family-friendly, hotel-led atmosphere. Many visitors stay on an all-inclusive basis, and much of the evening entertainment and dining is based within the resort’s hotels. There are some casual restaurants, bars and shops around the central area, but the choice is limited compared with nearby Puerto Rico or Puerto de Mogán. Nightlife is low-key, making the resort better suited to relaxed evenings than late nights out.

One of the main local attractions is the Taurito water park area, which has pools and slides and is popular with families. You may also find activities such as mini golf, amusement arcades or sports facilities depending on what is operating during your stay. For days out, the resort is well placed for visiting Puerto de Mogán, often called Little Venice for its marina and pretty waterside streets, or Puerto Rico for boat trips, shopping and a wider choice of places to eat. Dolphin-spotting cruises, coastal boat rides and excursions into Gran Canaria’s mountainous interior are also popular from this part of the island.

Overall, Playa de Taurito suits holidaymakers looking for a quiet, convenient beach resort with a sheltered setting and easy access to livelier neighbouring resorts when you fancy a change of scene.
