Costa Adeje is one of Tenerife’s best-known resort areas, set on the island’s south-west coast with a polished, relaxed feel. The resort is generally more upmarket than some of its neighbours, with smart seafront promenades, modern hotels and a choice of beach clubs, cafés and restaurants.

The coastline is a major part of the appeal. Playa del Duque is the standout beach, known for its pale sand, clear water and stylish surroundings, while Playa Fañabé and Playa de Torviscas are popular for sunbathing, swimming and watersports. The promenade links several beach areas, making it easy to walk between cafés, shops and sea views. Conditions are often calm, though the Atlantic can still be lively, so it is worth paying attention to beach flags.

Costa Adeje has a strong dining scene, ranging from casual tapas bars and Canarian restaurants to international options serving Italian, Indian, Asian and British favourites. Many restaurants are clustered around the seafront, shopping centres and hotel areas, so eating out is straightforward whether you want a quick lunch or a longer evening meal.

Nightlife here is varied but generally more laid-back than in nearby Playa de las Américas. You will find cocktail bars, live music venues, hotel entertainment and relaxed late-night spots, with livelier nightlife available a short taxi ride away if you want it. This makes Costa Adeje a good choice for couples, families and groups who prefer atmosphere without being in the centre of the party scene.

There is plenty to do beyond the beach. Siam Park, one of Tenerife’s most popular water parks, is close by, and boat trips from the nearby coast often head out in search of whales and dolphins in the waters between Tenerife and La Gomera. Golf Costa Adeje is a well-regarded course just outside the main resort area, while day trips can take you to Mount Teide National Park, traditional towns or other parts of the island. Overall, Costa Adeje offers a comfortable, well-equipped Tenerife base with beaches, dining and activities all within easy reach.
