About Vodice holidays

Vodice is a lively coastal resort on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, just north of Šibenik. It is a good choice for holidaymakers who want a classic Adriatic seaside break with easy beaches, a busy harbour, plenty of places to eat and a sociable summer atmosphere. The resort has grown from a fishing town into a well-established holiday spot, but its old centre still has narrow streets, stone buildings and a waterfront that is pleasant for evening walks.

Beaches are a major part of a holiday in Vodice. Most are pebble, shingle or paved bathing areas rather than soft sand, so water shoes can be useful. Plava Plaža, often called Blue Beach, is one of the best-known local beaches and has shallow areas that suit relaxed swimming. Around the resort you will also find beach bars, sunbathing platforms and places to hire pedalos or try watersports in the warmer months. For a quieter feel, the neighbouring area of Srima is worth considering, while Tribunj offers a more traditional coastal village atmosphere nearby.

Vodice has a wide choice of restaurants, from casual pizzerias and cafés to Dalmatian konobas serving grilled fish, seafood, risotto, meats and local wines. The harbour and promenade are the main focus in the evening, with families, couples and groups all out for dinner, drinks or a stroll. In peak summer the resort can be quite lively, with cocktail bars, music venues and clubs attracting visitors who want more than a quiet early night.

There are several easy days out from Vodice. Šibenik is close by and is well worth visiting for its historic centre and UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St James. Boat trips run to nearby islands, including Prvić, and excursions to the Kornati Islands are popular for dramatic scenery and swimming stops. Krka National Park is also within reach for waterfalls, walking trails and river landscapes.

Vodice suits travellers looking for a convenient, sociable Croatian resort with good access to beaches, restaurants and day trips, while still being small enough to explore on foot around the centre and waterfront.
