About Nabq Bay holidays

Nabq Bay is a laid-back Red Sea resort area at the northern end of Sharm El Sheikh, around a short transfer from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport. It suits holidaymakers who want warm weather, hotel-based comfort and easy access to snorkelling, diving and desert scenery, without staying in the busiest part of Sharm.

The resort is known for long, wide hotel beaches, clear water and views across to Tiran Island. The sea here is often very shallow close to shore, with coral areas and seagrass in places, so many hotels provide jetties for swimming and snorkelling beyond the reef edge. Reef shoes are useful, and it is important not to stand on coral. Nabq can also be breezier than some other Sharm areas, which is welcome in the heat but can occasionally affect sea conditions and boat trips.

Most holidays to Nabq Bay are centred around large resort hotels, many operating on an all-inclusive basis with pools, spas, restaurants, bars and organised activities. Outside the hotels, the atmosphere is relatively relaxed. La Strada and the surrounding resort centre offer cafés, shops and a handful of restaurants, while livelier evenings can be found by taking a taxi to SOHO Square, Naama Bay or Sharm Old Market.

Popular things to do include snorkelling from hotel jetties, diving trips to Red Sea reefs, boat excursions towards Tiran Island, and day trips to Ras Mohammed National Park. Nabq Protected Area is also nearby, known for its desert-meets-coast landscape, mangroves and wildlife, although visits are usually best arranged through a reputable local operator. Inland, desert trips by 4x4 or quad bike, often combined with a Bedouin-style dinner, are widely offered.

Nabq Bay works particularly well for couples, families and anyone looking for a quieter Sharm El Sheikh base with spacious hotels and easy beach days. If you want constant nightlife on your doorstep, another part of Sharm may suit you better, but for sunshine, snorkelling and a slower pace, Nabq Bay is a strong choice.

Nabq Bay Holidays FAQs

Yes, Nabq Bay is a good choice if you want a quieter resort area with large hotels, beach access, pools and Red Sea snorkelling. It is less hectic than Naama Bay, so it suits relaxed holidays more than nightlife-focused trips.
