Kalo Livadi is a relaxed beach resort on the south-eastern side of Mykonos, best suited to travellers who want a quieter base with easy access to one of the island’s most appealing stretches of sand. It sits around a short drive from Mykonos Town, so you can enjoy a calmer seaside setting while still being within reach of the island’s restaurants, harbour lanes and well-known nightlife.

The main attraction is Kalo Livadi Beach, a long, sandy bay with clear Aegean water and a more spacious feel than some of Mykonos’ smaller coves. Parts of the beach are organised with sunbeds, umbrellas and beach bars, while other areas can feel more laid-back, especially outside the busiest summer weeks. The water is generally inviting for swimming, and the bay is a good choice for spending much of the day by the sea. Depending on the season, you may also find watersports available nearby.

Kalo Livadi has a stylish but not overly built-up atmosphere. There are beachfront places to eat and drink, with menus typically focused on Greek dishes, seafood, salads and relaxed Mediterranean dining. It is not a large resort centre, so choice is more limited than in Mykonos Town or Ornos, but that is part of its appeal for visitors who prefer a simpler beach-holiday setting.

Evenings in Kalo Livadi tend to be low-key. Some beach venues may have music and a livelier feel in high season, but this is not the island’s main nightlife area. For late bars, clubs and a wider choice of restaurants, Mykonos Town, Paradise and Super Paradise are better options and can be reached by taxi, hire car or seasonal bus services.

Popular things to do include exploring nearby beaches such as Kalafatis, Elia and Agia Anna, or heading inland to Ano Mera, one of Mykonos’ traditional villages, where you can visit the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani and enjoy a slower pace away from the coast. Hiring a car or quad can be useful if you want to explore independently, as public transport varies by season. Overall, Kalo Livadi is a good choice for a Mykonos holiday centred on beach time, relaxed meals and easy day trips around the island.
