Argassi is a well-established resort on Zante’s east coast, close to Zakynthos Town and within an easy transfer of the island’s airport. The beach at Argassi is narrow and fairly modest compared with some of Zante’s larger sandy bays, but it is still a useful spot for a laid-back day by the water. You’ll find a good choice of Greek tavernas, grill houses, family-run restaurants and international options, so it is easy to keep evenings varied without travelling far. Nightlife is sociable rather than wild, with cocktail bars, music bars and places showing sport, making it a good choice if you want evenings out without the intensity of Laganas.

Argassi also works well as a base for exploring. Zakynthos Town is only a short journey away for harbour walks, shopping, cafés and cultural sights around Solomos Square. Inland, keen walkers can head up towards Mount Skopos and the Panagia Skopiotissa monastery, though the route is steep and best tackled with sensible footwear and plenty of water. Many visitors also use Argassi as a starting point for boat trips, island tours and days out to the beaches of the Vasilikos peninsula, including protected turtle-nesting areas where local rules should be followed.

Overall, Argassi suits holidaymakers who want a friendly resort with plenty of places to eat and drink, easy access to the capital, and a practical location for seeing more of Zante.
