If you want quiet evenings, it is best to choose accommodation away from the busiest streets or consider nearby areas such as Kalamaki for a calmer base.

Popular things to do include boat trips around Laganas Bay, excursions towards Marathonisi, often called Turtle Island, and visits to the Keri Caves on the south-west coast. Many visitors also take a day trip to Zakynthos Town for harbour views, shopping and a change of scene.
