Tsilivi Holidays

Tsilivi is one of Zante’s best-known holiday resorts, set on the island’s east coast a short drive north of Zakynthos Town. It has grown from a small village into a lively but easy-going resort, making it a popular choice for UK holidaymakers who want a beach break with plenty of places to eat and drink close at hand.

The main draw is Tsilivi Beach, a long stretch of sand and shingle with shallow, generally calm water that suits relaxed swimming and days by the sea. Sunbeds, umbrellas and watersports are usually available in season, while the beachfront has cafés, beach bars and tavernas for lunch with a sea view. The resort is fairly spread out, with hotels, apartments, shops and restaurants lining the roads leading down towards the beach.

Evenings in Tsilivi are sociable rather than wild. You’ll find a good choice of restaurants, from traditional Greek tavernas serving grilled meats, seafood and meze to international menus aimed at holiday visitors. Bars tend to be friendly and informal, with cocktails, live sport, quiz nights or occasional live music, especially during the summer. For a bigger night out, Laganas is elsewhere on the island, but Tsilivi is better suited to couples, families and groups who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.

There is enough to do locally for a varied week away. Tsilivi Waterpark is a popular daytime option, and boat trips are widely offered from the wider area, including excursions to Zakynthos’ famous coastline and sea caves. Zakynthos Town is close enough for an easy visit, with harbourfront cafés, shops, churches and squares giving a different feel from the resort. Many visitors also hire a car for a day or two to explore mountain villages, viewpoints and quieter beaches around the island.

Tsilivi works well if you want the convenience of a developed resort without feeling too hectic. It has a broad choice of accommodation, a welcoming holiday atmosphere and straightforward access to some of Zante’s best-known sights, while still offering simple pleasures: beach days, long dinners and relaxed evenings by the Ionian Sea.
