About Puerto Banus holidays

Puerto Banus is one of the Costa del Sol’s best-known resorts, set around a smart marina just west of Marbella. It is a place for waterfront strolls, yacht-spotting, long lunches and lively evenings rather than a quiet escape, with much of the action focused on the harbour and the streets immediately behind it.

The marina is the resort’s main draw. Luxury boats line the quayside, while designer boutiques, cafés, cocktail bars and restaurants sit just a few steps from the water. It is a great spot for people-watching, especially in the evening when the area becomes busier and the lights come on around the harbour. Shopping is a big part of the Puerto Banus experience too, with high-end brands around the marina and larger shopping centres nearby.

Puerto Banus also has easy access to the beach. Playa Puerto Banus and the neighbouring sands around Nueva Andalucia and Rio Verde offer sunbeds, beach clubs, watersports in season and places to eat close to the shore. The beaches here are convenient and sociable, with a polished Costa del Sol feel rather than a remote or undeveloped setting.

Eating out is varied, with everything from seafood and Spanish tapas to Italian, Asian and modern international restaurants. Many venues are geared towards visitors, particularly around the marina, but you can also find more relaxed local-style dining by heading a little away from the busiest waterfront streets.

Nightlife is one of Puerto Banus’ strongest points. Evenings often start with drinks by the marina before moving on to late bars and clubs. The scene is stylish and energetic, especially in summer, though there are also quieter terraces for those who simply want a drink with a view.

For things to do, you can walk the seafront promenade towards Marbella or San Pedro, book a boat trip, try watersports, or visit Marbella’s old town for whitewashed lanes, orange trees and traditional squares. Puerto Banus works particularly well for couples, groups of friends and travellers who want a glamorous base with beaches, restaurants and nightlife close at hand.
