If you want a busier night out, Marmaris is easy to reach by dolmus, taxi or seasonal boat service, but many visitors prefer returning to Icmeler for its quieter pace.

Popular things to do include boat trips around the bays, water taxis along the coast, walking in the surrounding hills and browsing the local market when it is on. The old village area, slightly inland from the beach, gives a different feel from the seafront and is worth a wander for a slower pace and mountain views. From Icmeler, excursions to Marmaris, Dalyan, mud baths, river trips and nearby coves are also commonly available.

For UK holidaymakers, Icmeler works well as a straightforward sun holiday resort: scenic, walkable, friendly and close enough to Marmaris for extra choice without staying in the middle of a larger town.
