About Punta Prima holidays

Punta Prima is a relaxed seaside resort on Menorca’s south-east coast, well suited to holidaymakers looking for an easy beach break with a quieter atmosphere. It sits close to Sant Lluís and within straightforward reach of Mahón, making it a convenient choice if you want a coastal base without being far from the airport or the island’s capital.

The main focus of the resort is Punta Prima beach, a broad sandy bay with clear water and lovely views across to the Illa de l’Aire lighthouse just offshore. The beach is backed by a small promenade area with places to eat and drink, so it is easy to spend the day between the sand, the sea and a shaded terrace. As with many Menorcan beaches, conditions can vary with the wind, so it is worth paying attention to the flags and local advice before swimming.

Punta Prima has a compact, easy-going feel rather than a busy resort centre. You will find a selection of restaurants, cafés and bars, many serving simple Mediterranean dishes, seafood, tapas and familiar holiday favourites. Evenings tend to be low-key, with drinks by the sea and relaxed meals rather than late-night clubbing. This makes the resort particularly appealing for couples, families and anyone who prefers a calmer pace.

There are useful options for exploring nearby. The surrounding coast is good for scenic walks, including sections of the Camí de Cavalls, Menorca’s long-distance coastal route. Nearby spots such as Binibeca, Alcaufar and S’Algar are easy to reach for a change of scene, while Sant Lluís offers a more traditional Menorcan feel. Mahón is also a worthwhile day out, with its large natural harbour, shops, markets, restaurants and historic streets.

Holidays in Punta Prima are generally about simple pleasures: beach time, sea views, leisurely meals and short trips around Menorca’s quieter south-east corner. It is not the island’s liveliest resort, but that is a large part of its appeal.
