About Acharavi holidays

Acharavi is a relaxed resort on Corfu’s north coast, set between the Ionian Sea and the green slopes leading up towards Mount Pantokrator. It is a practical, easy-going choice for UK holidaymakers who want a beach-based stay with plenty of places to eat and drink, but without the feel of a large, noisy resort.

The beach is one of Acharavi’s main draws. It stretches for several kilometres along the coast and is a mix of sand, fine shingle and pebbles, with generally calm, clear water in settled weather. Some sections have sunbeds and umbrellas in season, while quieter stretches are easy to find if you walk a little further along the shore. The sea views are lovely, with Albania visible across the water on clear days.

Behind the beachfront, Acharavi has a long main street with supermarkets, bakeries, cafés, pharmacies, souvenir shops and car hire offices, making it convenient for self-catering holidays as well as hotel stays. Restaurants range from traditional Greek tavernas serving grilled meats, seafood and local dishes to simple international options. Evenings are usually low-key, centred on beachfront drinks, cocktail bars and relaxed meals rather than late-night clubbing.

There are a few worthwhile things to do locally. The Folklore Museum of Acharavi offers an insight into traditional Corfiot life, while the surrounding countryside is good for walks, especially in spring and early autumn when temperatures are more comfortable. Nearby Almyros offers a quieter coastal feel, and the Antinioti Lagoon area is known for its natural scenery. With a car, it is easy to explore north Corfu, including Kassiopi, Roda, Sidari and the mountain village of Old Perithia.

Acharavi suits couples, families and independent travellers who like a resort with useful amenities, a long beach and a friendly village-like atmosphere. It is also a good base if you want to combine beach time with day trips around northern Corfu, while still having everything you need close by.
