About Benitses holidays

Benitses is a relaxed seaside resort on Corfu’s east coast, set between the Ionian Sea and the green hills that rise behind the village. Once a fishing village, it has grown into a well-established holiday base while still keeping a traditional feel, especially around the older lanes, small harbour and waterfront tavernas.

The beaches in Benitses are mainly pebble and shingle rather than soft sand, with clear, calm water that suits swimming and snorkelling on settled days. Parts of the seafront have sunbeds and umbrellas in the main holiday season, while quieter stretches can be found by walking a little away from the centre. The coastline here is more compact than some of Corfu’s larger beach resorts, so Benitses is best for travellers who enjoy a simple beach day rather than a wide, sandy bay.

Eating out is one of the resort’s strengths. Along the seafront and in the village you’ll find traditional tavernas, seafood restaurants, cafés and casual bars, with menus often featuring grilled fish, souvlaki, salads and Corfiot specialities. Evenings are generally low-key, with a pleasant choice of places for a drink by the water rather than a big clubbing scene. This makes Benitses a good fit for couples, friends and families looking for a quieter Corfu holiday with enough amenities close to hand.

There are several easy things to do nearby. You can wander through the older part of the village, visit the remains of the Roman Baths, take a boat trip along the coast, or head inland for short walks with views over the sea. The resort is also well placed for exploring more of Corfu: Corfu Town is within easy reach by road or local bus, while the Achilleion Palace area and other east-coast villages are close enough for a half-day outing.

Overall, Benitses offers a practical, friendly base with a traditional Greek atmosphere, clear-water beaches, good local food and straightforward access to some of Corfu’s best-known sights.
