About Dassia holidays

Dassia is a relaxed beach resort on Corfu’s east coast, set between Gouvia and Ipsos and within easy reach of Corfu Town. It is a practical choice for UK holidaymakers who want a straightforward seaside base with places to eat, a calm beach and good transport links for exploring more of the island.

The resort is spread out along the coastal road, with hotels, apartments, tavernas, cafés and small shops dotted between the seafront and the main street. The atmosphere is generally laid-back rather than lively, especially compared with nearby Ipsos. Evenings tend to revolve around a meal by the water, a drink in a local bar or a quiet stroll rather than big club nights.

Dassia Beach is the main draw. It is a long, narrow stretch of shingle and pebble with clear, usually calm water, helped by its sheltered position on the east coast. Sunbeds and parasols are available in parts, while trees provide some natural shade behind the beach. The sea is well suited to swimming, and there are usually opportunities for watersports in the busier summer months. Beach shoes can be useful because of the pebbles.

Eating out is easy, with a choice of Greek tavernas, casual restaurants and international options both along the seafront and near the main road. Menus commonly include fresh fish, grilled meats, salads, meze and familiar holiday favourites. The resort is compact enough for simple evenings out, though having a car or using local buses opens up more choice nearby.

Dassia also works well as a base for sightseeing. Corfu Town, with its Venetian architecture, old fortresses, harbourfront and narrow lanes, is a popular day or evening trip. Gouvia marina, Ipsos, Barbati and the north-east coast are also within reach, while boat trips and island excursions can usually be arranged locally. For travellers looking for a comfortable, low-key Corfu holiday with beach time and easy access to the island’s highlights, Dassia is a convenient and pleasant option.
