About Kassiopi holidays

Kassiopi is a harbour resort on Corfu’s north-east coast, set beneath green hills with views across the Ionian Sea towards Albania. It has a livelier feel than many of the smaller villages in this part of the island, but it still keeps a traditional Greek character, especially around the waterfront where fishing boats, excursion boats and café terraces line the harbour.

Holidays in Kassiopi suit travellers who want a good choice of places to eat and drink without staying in a large, built-up resort. The centre is compact and easy to explore on foot, with tavernas, grill restaurants, bakeries, bars and small shops clustered around the harbour and village streets. Evenings are relaxed rather than club-focused, with cocktail bars, music bars and waterfront drinks providing enough atmosphere for a sociable night out.

Kassiopi is also well placed for beach days. The coastline around the village is made up of small coves and pebble beaches, many with clear water that is good for swimming and snorkelling. Bataria and Kanoni are among the best-known local spots, reached by a short walk from the centre, while Kalamionas is the main beach closest to the village. Beach shoes can be useful, as much of this coastline is pebbly or rocky rather than sandy.

One of Kassiopi’s main landmarks is the ruined Byzantine castle above the harbour. The walk up is worthwhile for the views over the village, coast and sea, particularly in the cooler part of the day. Boat trips are a popular way to see more of the north-east coast, with routes often visiting nearby bays, beaches and sometimes Corfu Town or coastal spots further afield depending on the operator and season.

The resort works well for couples, groups and independent travellers who like a holiday with plenty close by but without the scale of Corfu’s busier party resorts. It is also a useful base for hiring a car and exploring traditional villages, scenic viewpoints and quieter coves along the north and north-east of the island.
