The surrounding area also gives a glimpse of Corfu away from the beach, with olive groves, hillside villages and viewpoints within reach by car or organised excursion. Corfu Town is a worthwhile day trip for its Venetian-influenced old town, harbour, shops and historic sights.

Messonghi is a good choice for couples, families and repeat visitors who like a traditional Greek island atmosphere with the convenience of resort facilities. It offers a gentle, easy-going base for a Corfu holiday, especially if your ideal day involves the beach, a long lunch, a swim and a quiet evening by the water.
