Perama Holidays

Perama is a small, scenic resort on Corfu’s east coast, set between Corfu Town and Benitses. It is best suited to holidaymakers who want a relaxed base with lovely sea views, easy access to the island’s capital and a quieter atmosphere than the larger resorts. The setting is one of Perama’s main appeals: across the water you can see the famous Mouse Island, known locally as Pontikonisi, and the white Vlacherna Monastery near Kanoni.

The resort is spread mainly along the coastal road, with hotels, apartments, cafés and tavernas looking out over the Ionian Sea. Evenings tend to be quiet, centred on dinner with a view rather than late-night entertainment. For livelier nightlife, a wider choice of restaurants, bars and shops can be found in Corfu Town, while Benitses is also close by.

One of the most popular things to do is walk across the causeway towards Kanoni, where you can watch planes landing at Corfu Airport and take in classic views of Vlacherna Monastery and Mouse Island. The aircraft can be fun to watch, but it is worth noting that some accommodation may experience aircraft noise, particularly in the daytime and evening during the summer season.

Perama is also a practical base for exploring. Corfu Town is a short journey away for its UNESCO-listed old town, Venetian architecture, museums, harbour and shopping streets. The Achilleion Palace area near Gastouri is also within easy reach, and local buses, taxis and car hire make it straightforward to visit other parts of the island. Overall, Perama holidays suit travellers looking for sea views, a calm resort feel and convenient access to some of Corfu’s best-known sights.
