About Sidari holidays

Sidari is one of Corfu’s best-known resorts, set on the island’s north coast and popular with UK holidaymakers looking for a relaxed beach holiday with plenty close at hand. The resort has a friendly, informal feel, with a long main street, a good choice of places to eat and drink, and several beaches within easy reach.

The main beach at Sidari is a broad stretch of sand and shingle with shallow water in many areas, making it a practical choice for swimming and easy-going days by the sea. There are usually sunbeds, watersports and boat hire available in season, along with cafés and tavernas nearby. The most famous local spot is Canal d’Amour, a striking area of sandstone cliffs, coves and clear water just to the west of the centre. It is one of Sidari’s most photographed places and a lovely spot for a swim when conditions are calm, although the rocks can be slippery and it can get busy in high season.

Eating out in Sidari is straightforward and varied. You will find traditional Greek tavernas serving dishes such as souvlaki, grilled fish and meze, alongside international restaurants, snack bars and familiar British-style options. Evenings are generally sociable rather than formal, with many visitors enjoying a meal followed by drinks along the main strip.

Sidari has a livelier nightlife scene than many smaller Corfu resorts, but it remains easy to tailor the evening to your pace. There are cocktail bars, music bars, karaoke venues and pubs, with the busiest period during the summer months. Those wanting quieter evenings can stay around the beachside restaurants or choose accommodation away from the main nightlife area.

Popular things to do include coastal boat trips, exploring nearby coves, visiting traditional villages in northern Corfu, or hiring a car to see more of the island. Corfu Town, with its Venetian architecture and old fortress, is also a worthwhile day trip. Sidari works well for couples, groups and families who want a beach-based resort with restaurants, bars and excursions on the doorstep.
