You can also head inland to traditional villages, olive groves and mountain scenery for a different side of Crete.

Overall, Anissaras is best for a calm Cretan holiday with easy access to livelier places. It is not the resort for a big nightlife scene on your doorstep, but it works well if you want space, sea views and a convenient north-coast location.
