Tingaki Holidays

Tingaki, often written as Tigaki, is a relaxed beach resort on the north coast of Kos, around a short drive from Kos Town. It suits holidaymakers who want a straightforward seaside base with a good choice of places to eat and drink, without the busier feel of the island’s larger resorts.

The main appeal is Tingaki Beach, a long stretch of pale sand with shallow, generally clear water that works well for swimming and easy beach days. Parts of the beach are organised with sunbeds, umbrellas and beachfront tavernas, while other sections feel a little quieter if you prefer more space. The north coast can be breezy at times, which is welcome in the heat but can occasionally make the sea choppier. On clearer days, there are lovely views across the water towards nearby islands and the Turkish coast.

The resort itself is compact and easy to get around, with a main strip offering Greek tavernas, casual restaurants, cafés and bars. Dining is pleasantly informal, with plenty of grilled fish, souvlaki, salads and meze alongside familiar international options. Evenings in Tingaki are low-key rather than lively: expect relaxed drinks, sports bars and cocktails rather than large clubs. If you want a bigger night out, Kos Town is close enough for an evening trip by taxi, bus or hire car.

There are a few enjoyable things to do nearby beyond the beach. The Alikes salt lake sits close to the resort and is known for its birdlife, particularly during migration periods, as well as scenic walks when conditions allow. The surrounding area is fairly flat, making cycling a popular way to explore the coast and countryside. Tingaki is also a useful base for visiting Kos Town, the Asklepion archaeological site, traditional villages inland, or nearby beaches along the north coast.

Overall, Tingaki is best for a laid-back Kos holiday with a sandy beach, easy meals out and simple access to the rest of the island. It is not the place for non-stop nightlife, but it offers a comfortable, friendly base for couples, families and anyone looking for a quieter Greek island break.
