For a change of scene, the older village area of Ialyssos has a more local feel, while nearby Filerimos Hill is one of the best local places to visit. It has monastery buildings, archaeological remains linked to ancient Ialysos, shaded paths and wide views over the coast. Rhodes Town is also within easy reach by bus, taxi or hire car, making it simple to explore the medieval Old Town, harbour and shops during the day or evening.

Ialyssos is a practical choice for couples, families and independent travellers who want sea, good facilities and convenient transport links. Its breezy beach, informal dining and proximity to Rhodes Town give it plenty of appeal, particularly for visitors who prefer a resort with a calm atmosphere and straightforward access to the rest of the island.
