About Kiotari holidays

Kiotari is a relaxed beach resort on the south-east coast of Rhodes, set along a long stretch of shoreline between Lindos and Gennadi. It is a good choice if you want a quieter Rhodes holiday with easy access to the sea, spacious hotel areas and a slower pace than the island’s busier resorts.

The beach is the main focus in Kiotari. It is long, open and mostly a mix of sand and shingle, with clear water and plenty of room to spread out. Some sections are organised with sunbeds, parasols and beach bars, while other parts feel more natural and peaceful. The seabed can be pebbly in places, so beach shoes may be useful. In the main season, you may also find watersports available along parts of the coast.

Kiotari’s atmosphere is calm and resort-based rather than lively. Many visitors spend their days by the beach or pool, then head out for a relaxed meal in the evening. Dining is centred on hotel restaurants, beachside places and local tavernas serving Greek dishes, seafood, grilled meats and simple Mediterranean food. Nightlife is low-key, with a few bars for cocktails or a quiet drink rather than clubs or late-night party areas.

For sightseeing, Kiotari is well placed for exploring the southern half of Rhodes. Lindos, with its whitewashed lanes and hilltop acropolis, is one of the most popular day trips and is close enough for an easy visit. The traditional village of Asklipio, with its old castle remains and church, offers a more local feel inland. Further south, Prasonisi is known for its windswept scenery and watersports conditions, especially for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

A hire car is useful if you want to explore beyond the resort, although buses and taxis can connect Kiotari with nearby places depending on the season. Overall, Kiotari suits travellers looking for a laid-back Rhodes holiday with a good beach, comfortable hotels and convenient access to some of the island’s most interesting sights.
