About Kremasti holidays

Kremasti is a relaxed resort on the north-west coast of Rhodes, just a short transfer from the island’s airport. It suits holidaymakers who want an easy-going base with local character, simple beach days and good access to Rhodes Town, rather than a large purpose-built resort with big nightlife.

The village has a traditional centre with a main square, cafés, bakeries, small shops and tavernas where you can settle in for Greek dishes, grilled meats, seafood and meze. The atmosphere is friendly and low-key, with everyday local life continuing alongside tourism. Evenings are generally quiet, centred on casual meals and drinks rather than clubs. For a much livelier night out, Rhodes Town and Faliraki are reachable by taxi or local bus.

Kremasti Beach is one of the main draws. It is a long, pebbly and shingly stretch facing the Aegean, with clear water and plenty of space compared with some of the island’s busier beaches. The west coast of Rhodes can be breezy, particularly in summer, so the sea may be choppier than on the east coast. That makes the area popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers, while swimmers may prefer beach shoes and calmer conditions. Some sections have seasonal sunbeds and beach bars, but the feel remains fairly informal.

Kremasti is also a practical base for exploring. Rhodes Town, with its medieval Old Town, harbour and restaurants, is close enough for an easy day or evening trip. Nearby Ialyssos and Filerimos offer ancient sites and hillside views, while the Valley of the Butterflies is a popular inland excursion during the warmer months. You can also travel further along the west coast towards Ancient Kamiros or cross the island to the more sheltered beaches of the east coast.

Because Kremasti is close to the airport, transfer times are usually convenient, but some aircraft noise is possible depending on where you stay. Overall, it is a good choice for travellers looking for a straightforward Rhodes holiday with a village feel, a breezy beach, local dining and easy transport links.
