Theologos, also known as Tholos, is a relaxed resort on the north-west coast of Rhodes, close to the island’s airport and within easy reach of Rhodes Town. The resort is set beside the Aegean, with a long beach made up of shingle, pebbles and darker sand. This side of Rhodes is often breezier than the east coast, so the sea can be wavier, but the conditions are well suited to windsurfing and kitesurfing. For straightforward sunbathing and swimming, it is best to pick calmer days and bring beach shoes if you prefer easier access over the pebbles.

Because Theologos is close to Rhodes International Airport, transfer times are usually short, although some visitors may notice occasional aircraft noise depending on where they stay. Overall, Theologos is best for couples, independent travellers and anyone who wants a peaceful Rhodes holiday with local character, breezy coastal scenery and easy access to some of the island’s key sights.
