The path offers superb views, although the walk includes steps and uneven ground, so sensible footwear is useful. Imerovigli is also on the popular caldera walking route between Fira and Oia. You can follow the path south to Fira for shops, museums, bars and bus links, or head north towards Oia for one of Santorini’s best-known walks.

Eating out in Imerovigli tends to be relaxed and scenic. You’ll find a mixture of tavernas, modern Greek restaurants and smart terrace restaurants, many with sunset or caldera views. Evenings are generally quiet, making the resort a good choice for couples and anyone looking for a peaceful base. For livelier nightlife, Fira is close by and has a wider choice of cocktail bars, late-night venues and restaurants.

Imerovigli suits holidaymakers who want a beautiful, restful Santorini stay with easy access to the island’s highlights. It is particularly appealing if you like walking, photography, long lunches, sunset drinks and boutique accommodation. The cliffside setting does mean there are plenty of steps, so it may not be ideal for travellers with limited mobility.
