Evenings tend to be lively rather than rowdy, with cocktail bars, beach bars and relaxed music spots, especially in the busier summer months. For bigger nightlife or a wider choice of shops, Fira is reachable by local bus or taxi.

There are several worthwhile things to do nearby. Active visitors can walk up to Ancient Thera, an archaeological site on the ridge above the resort, with wide views over the coast. The Church of the Holy Cross is a notable landmark in the village, and boat trips, island tours and caldera sunset excursions can usually be arranged locally. Perissa is also a practical base for exploring Santorini’s wineries, traditional villages and famous viewpoints, while still returning to a straightforward beach resort at the end of the day.
