Golfo Aranci is a relaxed seaside resort on the north-east coast of Sardinia, close to Olbia and within easy reach of the Costa Smeralda. It has grown from a fishing village into a popular holiday base, but it still feels smaller and more low-key than some of the better-known resorts nearby. For UK holidaymakers, it suits a beach-focused break with good restaurants, coastal walks and straightforward access from Olbia Airport.

The resort is known for its clear, shallow water and a string of sandy town beaches, often referred to by number, including Prima, Seconda, Terza, Quarta and Quinta Spiaggia. Their easy access makes them handy if you want to stay close to your hotel or apartment without relying on a car. Just outside the centre, Cala Moresca is one of the area’s most scenic spots, with sheltered water and views towards the small island of Figarolo. Spiaggia Bianca and other beaches along the coast towards Pittulongu and Porto Rotondo are also popular for day trips.

Golfo Aranci’s centre is compact, with a seafront promenade, a working harbour and a choice of cafés, gelaterias and restaurants. Seafood is a highlight, and menus often feature local fish, pasta dishes and Sardinian specialities. Evenings are generally calm rather than lively, with drinks by the waterfront and a gentle summer atmosphere rather than big-club nightlife.

For things to do beyond the beach, Capo Figari is the standout local attraction. This headland has walking routes, coastal viewpoints and a wilder feel than the resort centre, with views across the Gulf of Olbia and towards Tavolara. Boat trips are also popular, including excursions around the coast and towards nearby coves and islands. The waters around Golfo Aranci are known for marine life, and dolphin-watching trips operate in the area, though sightings can never be guaranteed.

Golfo Aranci works well for couples, families and anyone wanting a quieter Sardinian resort with lovely beaches and easy access to the north-east coast. Hiring a car is useful if you want to explore more widely, but it is still possible to enjoy a simple beach holiday based in the resort itself.
